Youth Theater Lessons and Vocal Training in Loudoun County
Ignite The Light Theatre for the Performing Arts offers exceptional youth theater and vocal training in Loudoun County for students from kindergarten through their first year of college. Whether your child is stepping on stage for the very first time or already dreaming of a future on Broadway, we’ve got a program that fits—and inspires.
Our programs and classes are designed to meet students where they are developmentally, giving them the tools, training, and encouragement to grow as performers and as people. Each program builds confidence, nurtures creativity, and fosters community—all while providing a whole lot of fun.
Programs
SPARKS
Grades K-5th (rising K through rising 6th for summer)
SPARKS is where the journey begins. Designed for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, this program introduces young performers to the magic of musical theatre. Through games, guided rehearsals, and ensemble work, students learn the basics of stage presence, character development, vocal technique, and choreography. Each session culminates in a fully staged production, giving our youngest stars a chance to shine in front of a live audience—and take home memories that last a lifetime.
FLAMES
Grades 5th-10th (rising 5th through rising 11th for summer)
Next up is FLAMES, geared toward 5th through 10th graders who are ready to fan the creative fire. This program goes deeper into the world of performance, offering comprehensive training in acting, singing, choreography, and even behind-the-scenes elements like set and costume design. At this stage, we focus on refining technique and encouraging bold choices—all in a professional, supportive, and high-energy environment. FLAMES is perfect for students who want to elevate their skills while still enjoying the collaborative spirit that makes theater so special.
BLAZES
Grades 8th-12th (rising 8th through rising college for summer)
For seasoned performers in 8th through 12th graders, BLAZES takes the spotlight. This program challenges students to push themselves artistically as they stage full-length musical productions. Every element—from casting to curtain call—is approached with a commitment to excellence. In BLAZES, students deepen their training, take on more complex roles, and discover what it means to be a leader in the rehearsal room. And of course, they create lasting friendships along the way.
Inite All Stars
Audition Based
Have a serious performer with Broadway dreams? Ignite All Stars is our nationally recognized, audition-only troupe for dedicated students in 5th to 12th grade. These students participate in exclusive workshops, masterclasses, and advanced rehearsals, preparing them for standout performances at the Junior Theater Festival (JTF)—the world’s biggest celebration of student musical theatre. Each year, a select team travels to either JTF Atlanta or JTF West in Sacramento, representing ITLPA on a national stage.
